Adopt-A-County Road Online Form
ADOPT-A-COUNTY ROAD PROGRAM VOLUNTEER AGREEMENT
The Adopt-A-County Road Program is a partnership between Garland County and The Hot Springs Garland County Beautification Commission and citizens of the County to care for County roads and participate in making Garland County a better place to live. The Commission, the County and the individuals or groups adopting the road(s) make a commitment to each other to perform certain activities for keeping the areas clean and safe.
The Adopter/Adopter Group agrees to the following terms:
- In Consideration of Garland County, Arkansas and the Hot Springs/Garland County Beautification Commission's efforts in organizing and conducting the "Adopt-A-County Road" program, and allowing me to participate in said program, I hereby covenant and agree not to sue any and all employees, representatives, and/or agents of either entity and do hereby release and forever discharge the same of and from all claims, rights, and causes of actions of whatsoever kind unknown, foreseen and unforeseen, bodily and personal injury, damage to property, and the consequences thereof from any participation in the "Adopt-A-County Road" program. Furthermore, I certify that I am medically able to participate in this program and assume full and all responsibility.
- Remove litter along a designated section of City Streets(s) at least twice and preferably four times a year for a minimum of two years on the City Street(s) designated below.
- Designate a contact person/group leader. This person will be responsible for the following duties:
- Assure that all participants are responsible individuals and that participating minors under the age of 18 are provided with adult supervision as stated in the policy.
- Discuss safety precautions with project participants, request that participants sign in for each cleanup.
- Assure that all borrowed equipment and unused supplies are returned to the Adopt-A-County Road Program following the completion of the volunteer period.
- Discuss all projects with the Adopt-A-County Road Coordinator before the project is undertaken, unless other arrangements have been made.
- Avoid contact with items that have the potential to be hazardous or cause injury, such as heavy objects or items like syringes, needles, used condoms, animal carcasses, etc.
The Garland County/ HSGCBC. agrees to the following terms:
- Furnish operation supplies – e.g. litter bags, disposable gloves, also safety vest and grabbers for loan.
- Make arrangements for free removal and disposal of collected litter from the project site area provided prior contact has been made in compliance with the policy document
- Furnish and install Adopt-A-City Street sign(s) with the Adopter’s name on each sign, at some time after the Adopter has completed the first project See below for wording).
- Coordinate publicity or funding arrangements with the Adopter, when possible, for special projects or beautification efforts.
